The Camas Lacrosse K-2 Program provides the introductory mechanics, fundamentals and physical literacy of the game of lacrosse. Kids K-2 are provided a fun learning environment to practice and play the game with their coaches and peers.
Coaches for the K-2 program are hand picked from our varsity high school teams. These coaches are trained to be ready to provide a fun and energetic environment for your son or daughter to learn the game.
Practices will be two days a week from 6:30-7:30 at Camas High School grass field, next to Cardon Stadium. Practices run side by side the 3/4 players and adult coaches so our players can see what lacrosse looks like at the next level. Games are jamboree style and played within Clark County on the weekends.
K-2 is coed as the fundamentals for both the boys and girls game are the same at this age. We play with specially made "softy" balls to keep things safe. No protective equipment is needed. Players need to bring running shoes, a youth lacrosse stick with a pocket and a water bottle.
You can find youth lacrosse sticks at our online gear store, or at your local Dicks Sporting Goods store. Big 5 may also carry youth sticks. If you are unsure about buying a stick without knowing whether your son or daughter will like the game, please reach out to us. We may have a stick for you to borrow for the season.
Youth season starts the week of March 4th.
